About DanceBetGame

What DanceBetGame is for, who writes it, how claims are checked, and where to write when we get something wrong.

What this site is

What you are looking at is a working blog. Old pieces stay up in the archive rather than quietly disappearing, including the ones that have aged badly.

DanceBetGame exists for one reason. Most pages about dance and rhythm games are written to sell something, and very few are written by people who will still be here to answer for what they published.

Bylines

Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it, and every name links to a page listing everything else they have written.

Tamsin Rourke, Editor. Tamsin taught hip hop and jazz funk at a community studio for eleven years before trading the mirror for a screen. She edits the blog and still counts every song in eights.

Kenji Morales, Rhythm games writer. Kenji has played arcade rhythm games since Dance Dance Revolution machines filled mall arcades. He writes about timing windows, charts and the habits that separate a clean run from a messy one.

Lucia Ferrante, Dance fitness writer. Lucia teaches dance fitness classes and uses dance games with beginners who are nervous in a studio. She writes about effort, recovery and keeping it fun enough to come back.

What we cover

  • Games. Dance and rhythm games from arcade pads to VR, how they score you, what they teach and which ones are worth your evenings.
  • Dance Styles. Hip hop, house, K-pop choreography and the styles dance games borrow from, explained by people who teach them.
  • Dance Fitness. Dancing as exercise: heart rate, sessions, recovery and honest numbers without miracle claims.
  • Music and Beats. Tempo, counts and song choice, and why some tracks make you move and others do not.
  • Learn to Dance. Practice plans and first steps for dancing at home, with or without a teacher.
  • Dance Gear. Shoes, floors, mats and the small kit that makes home dancing safer and more fun.

One article, one topic. It keeps the category pages usable, and in practice games, dance styles and dance fitness are where most readers end up.

The method

We write from notes taken while doing the thing, not from a summary of other summaries. Where we are unsure, the page says so in plain words.

Nobody has editorial input except the people whose names are on the articles. That includes anyone who has ever sent us money.

How claims get checked and how money is disclosed is written down separately, on the editorial policy page.

Who pays for this

The site pays for itself through a small number of outbound links. It has never been enough to change what gets written, and the day it is, we will say so here.

What we do not do

We are not the right place for advice tailored to your exact situation. DanceBetGame publishes general guidance, and the difference matters more than it sounds.

Corrections

Corrections go to [email protected]. Quote the sentence rather than describing it. We would rather log a visible correction than edit a page and hope nobody noticed, and the contact page explains the rest.
